YoNoCocino.com project description in plain English

YoNoCocino.com (I Don’t Cook) is a web directory which connects home delivery food venues with customers across the internet. The platform offers its users the possibility to view all restaurants in their vicinity in one place, ordered by the type of food served, select the one they like best, have a look at the list of dishes available, place an order and pay online.

All of this in one website with a slick and intuitive design, both for users placing their order as well as for the restaurants adding or updating their menus and prices.

This way, our initiative will allow for a smoother access to the online market for the restaurants using it, a sector which is still pretty traditional at its core and has to reinvent itself in order to adapt to the growing demand from a new emerging customer base.

With Yonococino.com, you cook it, I’ll eat it.

Goodbye 2009, Hello 2010!

Thank you everyone who made 2009 a great year, it’s been tough but it was worth it. I’m sure 2010 will be a great year for those who stick with doing the right thing. It will be the year to really crush it so remember it’s about the people you care about first of all. Best wishes to you all from me, my wife Inma and our 8-months old boy, Joan!
I leave you with this year’s last pics update. See you in 2010!

YoNoCocino team meeting, white mountain topa and Pokens

Thought I should post some pica from Saturday’s @yonococino team meeting, plus the first snow this year which fell 2 days ago. Oh, and an early Xmas present as mentioned a while back. Pokens are coming to town!
With a nasty cold for the moment, hoping to recover soon. Have a great 2009 end everyone!

Finally ..... past 2 weeks updates and pics

It’s been a while since posting to Posterous since loads have happened. As you know, I’ve been to iWeekend Alicante http://www.iweekend.org/2009/alicante/ , had a great time and will be working on developing the winning project www.yonococino.com. I was pushing @garyvee ‘ s book CrushIt” http://www.crushitbook.com/  so I got the wristband from them which I’m still wearing (great for wrist exhaustion from over-using the mouse). Thanks VaynerMedia guys!

Worked on some exciting projects for top clients with Justin from www.justdesignstudio.com and we developed what I consider more than a great working relationship. You can check some of the Xperia X10 photos from Sony Ericsson on my Flickr page (that’s an awesome phone we are helping promote).

But it’s not all roses, since my wife, Inma, is in the hospital since Friday for a stress-related ailment. Tomorrow they’re running some test so we’ll know more. It doesn’t seem to be serious so far, just exhaustion (she’s been working too much, what with the whole swine flu vaccination campaign an all). She was better today, just missing our baby Joan a lot.

I’ve thrown together a few photos from the good ‘ol iPhone with this post. Sorry to my Spanish-speaking followers, but no Spanish version of the post (get with the program!) There’s one from Ofo’s birthday, another from the hospital with Inma, the CrushIt wristband, a couple of the FrikiWear boys (snapshot from www.userbooth.com) , an old Sony Vaio I had to reinstall XP on for a friend and a blurry pic of the advent calendar  I bought the other day.

And on a funny note (if you know Romanian) there’s a screenshot with some “great” song name translations from Spotify.

Yes, I’m on spotting new music on Spotify (although I prefer my Grooveshark for now), riding the Google Wave (Jeez Louise…), beta-testing the to-be-out-in-2010 MS Office Starter (free MS Office version for home users including Word and Excel – looking pretty good actually), got my FonYou number and other techie what-the-heck-is-he-talking-about things.

Oh, and just got off Skype with Andrew from Adamson USA http://adamson-usa.com after assisting him on the FancyPlayer tutorial code I’ve released this summer and revisited a few weeks ago on WGDB http://www.webgurusdesignblog.com/ .

Overall, it’s been an exciting and a bit overwhelming end of the year, which I sincerely hope will culminate with a great Xmas and New Year’s at home with the family (Inma, get better soon, Joan and I  love you and are waiting for you back home). Back with more updates soon. Thank you all for caring and have a great December!

Notas del primer dia de/Notes from the first day of #iWeekend Alicante

Back from the first day of iWeekend Alicante. Very interesting people and ideas. Tomorrow we will start developing the winning proposal, the Yonococino.com restaurant site.  Here are a few photos, some with the winner as well. I gave him a gift, as promised, the book “Crush It”, by Gary Vaynerchuk, so he will use it for inspiration on the way to entrepreneurship. Good thing I got the books from Amazon.com yesterday morning. My new bizcards were pretty useful as well. You can see the difference in design from the old version. See you tomorrow!

El lector de DNIe de @tractis ya está aqui. The DNIe reader is here. Jules Verne rules!

My DNIe reader (spanish electronic id) from Tractis arrived. The envelope design is great and the reader itself is pretty compact as you can see in the photo. For now, the only person in the house with a DNIe is Joan, yet I don’t think he’s going to use it that much since he’s only 7 months-old. But I would like to try it out with some of the libraries available for web applications. The Wordpress plugin from Tractis seems to work fine, so let’s see how to develop plugins for other CMSs.
